Normhydral is a combination of electrolytes and glucose constituted in accordance with international recommendations to replace fluid and electrolyte losses resulting from diarrhoea and vomiting.
The reconstituted oral solution (500 ml) resupplies the body with the important electrolytes, sodium and potassium Glucose improves the absorption of sodium, which increases the necessary absorption of water. Citrate prevents the acidification of the blood that can occur in diarrhoea.
